PRSSA First Annual PRunch

This semester, the Roger Williams University (RWU) chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) made history by hosting its very first PRunch event. PRunch—a blend of PR and brunch—was more than just a gathering; it was a vibrant occasion aimed at bringing alumni back to campus to connect with current students and foster valuable networking opportunities.

The event took place against the picturesque backdrop of our campus, where alumni from various professional backgrounds returned to share their insights and experiences with the next generation of PR professionals. One of the highlights of PRunch was the lawn games and networking, which added a touch of lightheartedness to the networking experience. Students and alumni alike participated enthusiastically, mingling and forging new bonds over friendly competition. Each alumni was connected with students interested in their fields as a way to connect our current students with real-world mentorships.

The presence of RWU professionals within the PR industry further enriched the event. Students had the unique opportunity to interact with seasoned practitioners, gaining firsthand knowledge about career paths, industry trends, and professional development. Throughout the event, conversations flowed freely, bridging the gap between alumni and current students. These interactions not only provided valuable networking opportunities but also served as sources of inspiration and guidance for those embarking on their PR journeys. PRunch was a testament to the strong sense of community within our PRSSA chapter. It exemplified the spirit of collaboration and mutual support that defines our organization. We extend our sincerest thanks to all who contributed to making this inaugural event a resounding success.

Looking ahead, PRSSA is excited to continue hosting events that facilitate meaningful connections and foster professional growth within our community. Stay tuned for more updates and opportunities to engage with RWU's vibrant PR network.
