As we embark on a new academic year, PRSSA is on a journey to build our nest together. The PR Hawks at Roger Williams University’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter recently gathered to kick off the semester with a unique icebreaker activity, "Build Our Nest with Twigs". Like hawks gather twigs to construct their nests, we also gather ourselves to form a community.
The event helped us connect as students created a symbolic "twig," which included their name, major, hometown, year in school, reason for joining PRSSA, and their favorite place they had traveled. Afterward, they read their twigs aloud to the group to help us break the ice and share experiences to weave together our experiences, much like a hawk builds its nest with twigs.
By the end of the event, the PR Hawks had not only introduced themselves but also formed meaningful connections—laying the foundation for another successful and collaborative year in PRSSA. Imagine this club as our nest-building ground, these twigs not only introduce us but also connect us, building a nest of experiences, aspirations, and shared interests. Through these connections, our nest grows stronger and helps us embrace this opportunity to learn, grow, and soar together as PR Hawks.
Here’s to building our nest with twigs of community, knowledge, and ambition.
Hawks fly high in PRSSA!
